February meeting recap

Hello and welcome to the recap of our February meeting! This was our first meeting in the Hopewell Train Station. For March's meeting we will be returning to Pennington Quilt Works because the train station is getting its floors refinished.

Spaces are now available in two workshops: Improv Words with Chawne Kimber on April 13, and Lone Star with Sarah Bond on June 8. Members please see GroupWorks for more information and details on how to register!

Members should also have received a form from Jamee about entering quilts in our exhibition at Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza. Please email her if you didn't!

This month's Challenge was birthstone-inspired tote bags. We had such a wonderful response. So many bags! Thanks everyone for participating!

Then we showed our blocks for the first month of this year's Improv Quilt-A-Long. The theme was improv log cabins. Again, we had a ton of participants!

This month for the Bee we didn't have anything to show yet, but first there was a short explanation of how the bee works, and Queen Bee Jamee gave out her instructions.

After the break, three members gave ten minute demos of techniques which the rest of the guild watched in rotating groups. Jess L demonstrated machine binding, Jamee talked about free motion quilting with rulers, and Andrea showed several methods of machine applique. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
