We met again at PQW on April 12. We had several visitors and brand new members, hello!
Mark your calendars! The fall retreat is scheduled for October 20-22, and registration will open in May. Also on the registration horizon: Drafting Complex Curves with Audrey Esarey will be held on August 5 on zoom.
Juanda and Mada gave a special presentation on the Paying Homage to Harriet Powers quilts made by members of Princeton Sankofa Stitchers MQG, Brown Sugar Stitchers, and Akoma Ntoso MQG, which had their own special exhibit at QuiltCon 2023 in at Atlanta. They discussed Harriet Powers' inspirations and talked about the unique voices each quilter brought to their pieces.
The Guild Bee handed in blocks for Paulette (stars) and Jamee (improv in blue). Jaimie handed out packets to make scrappy bear paws.
The improv sewalong blocks due this month were Improv Grandmother's Fan, which we did show, and I failed to take pictures. My apologies.
Next up we saw some gifts from the most recent Secret Sewist exchange.
Show and Tell this month was absolutely massive! So many beautiful projects. Thank you all for sharing!
