Hello friends! We have been meeting online via zoom since early 2020. It has been difficult to write meeting recap posts, but we think we have a method now :)
In February, we welcomed our new board: co-presidents Gay and Mary-Ellen, secretary Kathleen, and treasurer Jenny. Thank you for volunteering to keep our guild going!
Some announcements:
- Please contact the guild if you'd like to do a "meet the quilter" presentation about your quilting journey. We love to see everyone's work!
- Rose has two quilts in Philadelphia's City Hall through March 31 as part of an exhibition celebrating Harriet Tubman. Visit the website to learn more about Dreams of Freedom: The Threads that Hold Us Together.
- The Sankofa Stitchers have quilts on display in an exhibit titled HER STORY IN STITCHES through March 30 on the second floor of the Princeton Public Library.
In breakout rooms, we discussed our favorite pattern designers. Everybody agrees that there's nothing like a really well-written pattern!
Some of our members' blocks for the 2021 guild quiltalong:
Following the end of the block-making part of the quiltalong, Jess S. gave a short presentation on how to use alternate gridwork when assembling a quilt top using different size blocks. Finished quilts are due in June (as always, there will be prizes).
We recently had a small secret sewist swap, and here are two of the hauls.
And finally, here's what we saw in show & tell!
