Hello! Our agenda this month was a little short - no challenges or swaps to give everyone time to make their Secret Quilter gifts due at the January meeting. Reminder to members that dues for 2018 must be paid by the January meeting. Get your WIP It Up entries in by December 31!
Jess S led an information session about our Quilt-A-Long for 2018. She also posted all of the info on our website: Modern FMQ QAL - 2018 Guild Quilt-A-Long. The will be updated with the mystery theme each month, in case you miss a meeting (or are joining the QAL remotely). The theme for January is loops.
We had a discussion of the sewn items we include in our holiday traditions. Members mentioned things like patriotic tablerunners for Memorial Day and Independence Day, as well as handmade stockings and tree skirts for Christmas.
December's Show and Tell always has a lot of sharing, because our members make so many gifts! Here's what we saw:
And finally, the Guild Bee made courthouse steps blocks for Kim.

November meeting recap
November already! First, have a few things to remind our members as the year ends. Dues for 2018 must be paid to the treasurer (Beth) by December 31. The WIP It Up contest also ends December 31, so remember to fill out the form for each quilt you finish. Nominations for the 2018 board were taken at this meeting and we will accept more nominations at the December meeting, to be voted on in January.
Our annual fall retreat was held November 3-5th. We had almost a dozen attendees, saw lots of finished projects, and a great time was had by all. Keep an eye out for announcements for future retreats.
Speaking of the retreat, that's where Jess S finished the quilting of our QuiltCon Charity Quilt! She showed us before giving it to the next person who will do the binding.
This month we had a Fall Mug Rug Swap. How cute are they?
Here's what we saw in Show and Tell:
We had a discussion about some of our favorite time-saving techniques for sewing, including things like glue basting and chain piecing.
Finally, the Guild Bee sewed Swoon blocks for Laura B!

September meeting recap
Hello once again, all you quilty people out there. Welcome to another meeting recap post! We had a lot of stuff to show at this meeting, and I know you love pictures..
First, here are some more of the blocks for our QuiltCon Charity Quilt!
Last month, our guild hosted a workshop on Modern Organic Shapes taught by Jessica Levitt. One participant brought in her lovely quilt top to show us.
This summer, Janet organized some of our members into a Summer Bee Swap. Each person in the swap picked a color scheme and a block. The swappers made their chosen block in everyone else's color schemes, and then the blocks were distributed at the meeting. Here are some of the blocks and colors:
Here's what we saw in Show and Tell:
This month we had a challenge to make a quilt inspired by a song lyric, poem, or saying, preferably without using words in the design. Here's what we saw:
The Guild Bee made blocks for Christine:
The NewBee brought in some of last month's blocks as well as this month's:
