We had so much to talk about in June's meeting! Members, please see the newsletter and our Bigtent site for more about upcoming events including sewcials and workshops. You can also find information about the Orlando MQG heart quilt drive, including a link to the block instructions, in the discussion posted by Jess S. on Bigtent.
Now for the pictures!
Meg Cox gave us a short lecture on the state of digital printing in the fabric industry. She discussed the differences between digital printing and traditional screen printing, the ranges of colors, and why some manufacturers have embraced the process and why others have not. She brought in examples from a few companies including Hoffman and Hawthorne Threads. Here are a few:
Patchwork City QAL: participants brought in their blocks for June.
NewBee's first set of blocks, made for Juanda! Please read about the NewBee here.
CJMQG Bee: Members brought in their blocks for Kristina.
Swap: Paper pieced mug rugs. Look at how cute they are!
Challenge: Members finished up their churn dash minis following the machine binding demo from last month.
Neva announced our new challenge, the crayon challenge. We picked our crayons, and those quilts are due back in September.
Show and Tell: Once again, we are floored by the diverse talents of our members!
Our next official meeting is on August 9. See you then!
