"RAH, RAH, SIS, BOOM, BAH" I'm so excited for this year's QAL!!!!!
For the January meeting, you are asked to bring some fabric ideas or choices. I
was all set to get creative with fabric colors thanks to my trusty new
Kona Color card I received for Christmas (yay Santa!). But once my
family saw the original picture of the Quilt from the Knoxville MQG, they
all said they loved the colors they used. In truth, most all of the
quilts at my home are made of warm colors and they liked the idea of
cool and bold.
So, I chose the following for my color scheme:
Kona: Night Fall, Ultra Marine, Grass Green, Chartreuse, Flame, School Bus, Snow
I
also went ahead and made the first two blocks (due at the February)
meeting to make sure the patterns were sound and to be able to answer
any questions regarding construction.
The
January block is straight forward and sports a partial seam to
complete. Don't fear! It's just a small one and the tutorial next to the instructions on our website gives you all the information you need.
The
February block contains very simple paper piecing; perfect for a
beginner. For those of you new to paper piecing there are many tutorial
and videos online to view.
Looking forward seeing what everyone has to share at the January meeting!
GOOOOOOO GUILD!!!!!!
