We're only three weeks away from our August meeting. Since we didn't have a July meeting, it feels like it's been a long time!

-Discussion: Bring your favorite sewing notion!

-Presentation of charity quilt tops and finding quilters to quilt them

-Short presentation on blogging -- Jess S.

-Challenges: Bring in your Michael Miller challenges and we will take pictures and share!

-Use your low volume swapped fabrics from earlier this year to create something beautiful! You can bring your creation during either the August or September meetings.

-Start of the 2nd round of the CJMQG Bee

-Bring your Modern Monday QAL blocks to share

-Show and tell

-Some surprises :)

Reminder: Entering the Michael Miller contest

Hi all, with the deadline approaching, I thought I'd repost how to enter your challenge item. You have to post it on the MQG forum to be eligible for one of the three big prizes (fabric for a year!!) (I KNOW!)


1. Sign into the Modern Quilt Guild website and click the link below:
https://community.themodernquiltguild.com//groups/finished-michael-miller-fabric-challenge-0

2. Scroll to the bottom of the page. You'll see a text box. 

3. The last icon on the top bar is the "add media" button - click that.

4. Click browse to get your picture from the computer, and click upload. 

5. Type the size of your quilt and anything you want to say about it in the text box with the now-uploaded picture and hit "post." 

 That's it! Nothing else is necessary to be entered in this international contest. Good luck! Remember, you can use any brand solids and only Michael Miller prints.

Bring your MM challenge  to the August meeting (unless you've already gifted it, like me :D)!

Congratulations, Susan!

We are excited to announce that our own Susan Flick has won an Honorable Mention in this year's Quilt Alliance contest ("Inspired by..."). Her quilt, along with all other entries, will be raffled off later in the year. You can read all about Susan's Piet Mondrian-inspired quilt, "The Moon and the Sky," right here!

Congrats Susan and to all the members who participated in the contest! If you send me pictures of your entry with a blurb, I will post it on the blog!
